BIS §232 Investigation Initiated, Wind Turbines and Parts

On August 13, 2025, the Secretary of Commerce initiated a §232 national security investigation into imports of wind turbines and their parts and components. BIS is soliciting written comments, data, and analyses from interested parties through September 9, 2025. The investigation will assess whether such imports threaten US national security under the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
