BIS §232 Investigation Initiated, Imports of Robotics and Industrial Machinery

On September 2, 2025, the Secretary of Commerce initiated a §232 national security investigation into imports of robotics and industrial machinery. BIS is soliciting public comments, data, and analyses through October 17, 2025. The investigation could lead to tariff or quota recommendations to the President.
