CBP Proposed Rule, New Filing and Bonding Requirements for Low-Value Informal Entries
U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposes to amend its regulations to modify filing requirements for informal entries of goods valued at $2,500 or less and to create a new electronic informal entry type for mail-channel merchandise. The rule also proposes additional carrier data requirements for mail shipments and bonding requirements for certain informal entries, tightening oversight of low-value import channels.
