The U.S. Department of Commerce (International Trade Administration) initiated a countervailing duty investigation (C-570-229) on tin mill products imported from the People's Republic of China, published May 5, 2026. The investigation will examine whether Chinese government subsidies are materially injuring or threatening to injure the U.S. domestic industry. This follows a petition and triggers a preliminary injury determination process at the USITC.
