U.S.-Colombia Relations Reset, Tariffs, Critical Minerals MOU, and FY2027 Aid Under New President

Secretary Rubio visited Colombia on September 8, 2026, signing MOUs on civilian nuclear cooperation and critical minerals development but announcing no tariff reductions on Colombian goods. Congress is urged to assess how current U.S. tariffs have affected bilateral trade and may consider measures to codify, terminate, or adjust them in FY2027 appropriations.
