CRS Report, Oman Trade Ties, FTA, and July 2026 Forced-Labor Tariff (12.5%)
A CRS report on Oman notes that in July 2026 the Administration imposed a 12.5% tariff on most U.S. imports from Oman following an investigation finding Oman and other economies failed to enforce bans on forced-labor-made imports. Oman is also subject to higher global tariffs on aluminum. The U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement (P.L. 109-283, signed 2006) remains in force, bilateral trade totaled $3.3 billion in 2025.
