What changed
A presidential proclamation published September 14, 2026 (FR Doc. 2026-18837) excludes certain Canadian products from importation into the United States, citing continued Canadian discrimination against US commerce with respect to motor vehicles. The action appears to invoke §232 or a related national-security/trade authority and constitutes a binding import restriction on Canada-origin goods in the motor.
