White House Further Modifies Section 338 Duties on Canadian Products Over Auto Tariff Dispute
A new White House proclamation further modifies the scope of additional ad valorem duties on Canadian products imposed under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, originally levied to offset Canada's alleged discriminatory motor vehicle tariff scheme. The action builds on Proclamation 11048 (July 20, 2026) and a subsequent temporary suspension (Proclamation 11056, August 18, 2026).
